The Love Notions Sabrina Slims are new and improved and on sale for just $9!  Tami is working tirelessly to add more inclusive sizing to her pattern collection which means the Sabrina’s are now available in sizes 0-32! Hooray!

The Sabrina’s are a slim-fit elastic waist pant meant for sturdy knits or stretch wovens with at least 20% stretch.  There are loads of optional details that can take your pants from plain Jane to wowzers in no time!  You can do back welt or patch pockets or add front pockets (featuring a total unique construction that can act as a control panel) too.  Pockets are always a smart choice!  There are multiple inseam options and you can add a split hem or ankle zips.  Want to add a little more detail?  There’s front and back center seam versions that can be mixed and matched with the plain pant choices too.  There’s even a maternity option!  What I would’ve given for comfy and cute pants during my pregnancies!

Also added during this update was a projector file for all you lucky peeps with that cool time-saving technology.  For the rest of us, there are A0 files and trimless files too!

If you’ve already purchased the pattern, you can re-download the new file from your Love Notions account.  No need to purchase it again!

They are meant to hit at your natural waist.  I love the higher-rise fit and think it’s so flattering!  Included with the pattern is an amazing fitting workbook to help you get the best fit possible.  It’s an incredible resource and I know I’ll turn to it often.  I still feel so new to sewing pants (besides my trusty joggers) so I need all the help I can get!  I know for future woven pairs I’ll continue to tweak the fit until I get it just right.  This pair feels great but I think they can be even better with a little work.

The pattern includes measurements for your waist, hip, thigh, and calf when choosing sizing.  There are finished measurements for all of the above as well as the front and back rise.  This makes it easy to grade your patterns according to your own body.  My measurements meant I went with a 6 waist graded to a 4 through the hip and thigh and out to a 10 for the calf (I always have tight calves in RTW and this explains so much!). I also used a size 10 for my rise- a measurement that didn’t shock me either considering my long torso.  I took out a small v-shaped chunk from the center back as well (also not surprising considering most of my RTW pants have the lovely gaping at the back waistband).  I LOVE that I was able to easily customize these pants to fit my body.  It’s the beauty of sewing at it’s finest!

I sewed up two pair and used Raspberry Creek Fabrics for both of them.  The first pair is this fantastic black medium weight Cone Mills tencel stretch denim.   It’s soft and lighter weight than my store bought denim jeans.  The stretch and feel make them so much more comfortable than my RTW jeans too.  I love the color and think it works to be dressed up or dressed down.  I’ve been looking for pants that work for those events that jeans and a tee are not totally appropriate for and I think both of these will work well.

The second pair is made up in RCF CLUB ponteThis print just released as part of their spring line.  My last pair of Sabrina’s was also in CLUB ponte and it is just PERFECT for this pattern!  CLUB ponte is a little more stable than other pontes that I’ve tried.  This makes for a little more substantial pant that is still soft and easy to wear.  This pair feels like my most comfy pj’s but looks WAY nicer, lol!

When trying on tops to pair with my new pants I was so surprised by the options I had in my closet.  These pants are incredibly versatile and I couldn’t narrow down my choices for the perfect outfits.  Hence, you get a full-blown styling your Sabrina Slims post!  Looking for something springy and bright, I’ve got you covered.  Maybe you’re more casual than fancy, I hope I’ve got some ideas for you too.

This first look is featuring my favorite Love Notions Melody Top.   I wore this top so much last summer and it’s been great for layering through the winter too.  This outfit will be perfect for spring days.  Paired with a fun flat shoe (similar here) I like that this look feels put together but great for everyday mom life.

This is my ‘business casual’ look.  It works for meetings, lunch dates or anything where you need to look like you’ve got your ‘stuff’ together.  I paired my Sabrina’s with a leopard print Terra Tunic (from ages ago!), a white button-up, and classic oxfords (similar).   This outfit really did make me feel like I could conquer the world and look cute while I was at it!

This is the outfit I stayed in after the shoot for our date night out (you better believe that after all these pics my husband earned that date night!).  This is probably how I’ll be styling these pants for the next couple of months.  I love a good oversized sweater and this outfit was soooo cozy!  I also love the Sabrina’s paired with ankle boots.  It just feels so on point (even better if you can do a little heel but heels and I aren’t really friends).  I love H&M for sweaters (this one is from a local shop and not available) and the boots are my new favorites (they were super comfortable right from the get-go and you can’t beat a slip-on!).

This outfit is how I’ve always pictured styling the Sabrina’s- just like the beautiful Audrey Hepburn.  A sleek turtleneck sweater, ballet flats, and a scarf in her hair.  She was such a style icon and her look would still be in the fashion magazines of today.   This outfit made me feel similar to the leopard print sweater look.  Casual and comfortable but a little powerful and on-top of life too.  This sweater is classic (and a steal).  A similar scarf and shoes complete this simple outfit.

These last two looks have me dreaming of spring.  I just love this bright pop of color paired with these pants.  It’s so fun and happy.  I think a casual woven top is a wardrobe staple and the Love Notions Harmony would pair great with the Sabrina’s.  This is an old ready-to-wear top (similar), paired with even older kicks (similar sneakers here).  It feels good to find new looks for old standbys.

This is a slightly dressier look that is great for everyday.  A cute little cardigan is always a good idea!  This one is from Downeast and I love their basic cardigan in ALL the colors to coordinate with everything in my closet.

I hope these looks give you a few ideas to use with what is already in your closet.  I know I get stuck in my jeans and tee (or even better jogger and hoodie) wardrobe and the Sabrina’s really up my wardrobe game.  They’re just as easy-to-wear and look so much more pulled together.

Make sure to grab your Sabrina pattern here while it’s on sale through next Monday, February 10th.
