Raspberry Creek Fabrics Favorite Things Blog Tour

I’m thrilled to be here sharing a few of my favorite things- yummy fabric, my go-to patterns, and a couple of sewing notions I can’t live without.

As our days at home stretch on and on, I have found I reach for the same comfy pieces over and over. I have been living in my Love Notions Allegros and Classic Tees (affiliate links), sometimes paired together and sometimes with favorite ready-to-wear items. You can see some of my past Allegros here and here and here. I’ve also made my share of Classic Tees as you can see here and here. These are definitely two of my most used patterns EVER!

I’m loving the faux jumpsuit look, two easy to wear pieces that can be paired perfectly together for a cute one-piece look but I can use the bathroom with ease AND wear them separately too. Win, win, win!

I’d been dying to get my hands on some of the scrumptious new shades of modal at Raspberry Creek Fabrics and it is just as heavenly as I hoped. I wanted something classic and not too bright and was tempted by the charcoal grey or black but decided to go a little crazy and picked the olive green. I gravitate towards green often and this shade is perfect.

This is easily the most comfortable outfit I’ve ever worn! If you’ve never tried modal you are totally missing out. It’s got the drape of rayon spandex but is a little more plush and silky feeling. It really feels like heaven in fabric form. And head to toe modal? AMAZING!

When sewing up these pieces I reached for two of my favorite sewing notions. I usually avoid actual drawstrings as much as possible (if I had a dollar for every time they came out in the wash!). When I do add them, this handy drawstring threader is amazing! It makes rethreading those pesky loose drawstrings a breeze too. Simply thread one end of the drawstring in the plastic loop and thread it through the casing. The long plastic handle makes it soooo easy to thread it through the casing in mere seconds. I also can’t live without my Soft Stretch Lite Hem Tape. I use it for almost all of my knit hems but especially for lightweight fabrics. It adds a bit of stability and makes it easier to sew with a twin needle on my regular sewing machine. I usually stock up with a few packages every few months and kinda start to panic once I open my last package. It’s my secret weapon!

I love being a part of the Raspberry Creek team and feel so privileged to work with these incredible women. Make sure you head to the Facebook group for daily giveaways all week long.
