One can never have too much animal print, right? I’ve always considered a good animal print a classic that never goes out of style and these new Riley Blake On Safari prints are no exception.
These prints would work great for decor, quilts, and more but of course we had to make a killer dress with ours!
We picked the On Safari Leopard in grey for an uptown look that slayed us both.
For this dress, I turned to an old favorite, the Blake Dress from Mingo and Grace. I’ve made this dress countless times and always, always love the finished product. It’s such a classic silhouette and it sews up so nicely. For this version, she fit right into the size 8 for chest and waist and I added length to the skirt. The fit is spot on and has just enough room for her to grow a bit.
I added a fun exposed lace zipper for a little girly touch.
I don’t know what I love more- those big pleats or the hidden pockets. She was so surprised to find them! We had fun styling this dress and I couldn’t help but channel my favorite 50’s Hollywood movie stars. So chic and elegant while still being young and sweet too!
This cutie loves her new dress and we both love this whole line from Riley Blake!
